Aughnacloy stands on the national border with County Monaghan. The execptionally wide main street makes it an ideal locatiion for an open market held every first and third Wednesday of the month. Buildings of intrest are the handsome parish church built in 1763, the gabled almshouses and the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary with its unusual tall tower topped by a cupola. aughnacloy offers excellent fishing and for those interested in old railyways - the station house, which was once the headquaters of the former Clogher Valley railway, is still standing.‚Äč
