Aughnacloy

It stands on the national border with Monaghan an is one of the largest border crossing points. The exceptionally wide main street makes it an ideal location for an open market held every first and third Wednesday of the month.

Buildings of interest are the handsome parish church built in 1763, the gabled almshouses and the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary with its unusual tall tower topped by a cupola.

Aughnacloy offers excellent fishing and for those interested in old railways - the station house, which was once the headquarters of the former Clogher Valley Railway, is still standing.
