Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet

Magical theatre in magical surroundings!  The greatest love story of all will be performed as an open air theatre on Castle Hill, Dungannon.

Together with Dungannon Borough Arts Forum, Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council are organising an Outdoor Theatre at Castle Hill, Sunday 19th July, 4pm.

‘Beautifully staged’  The Belfast Telegraph

Romeo and Juliet is simply the most beautiful love story ever written. The most involving and wonderful of all Shakespeare’s works, with magical verse and incredible power, the play never ceases to enthral audiences of all ages.  A large cast, magnificent costumes and an enchanting musical score promises to make this one of the most memorable evenings of the summer.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s very special tenth anniversary season of open-air theatre visits to Ireland.  Picnic in the beautiful setting of Castle Hill with amazing views to watch the company of travelling players bring alive the romance and magic of the powerful and well-loved tale.

Following on from last year’s successful tour, Chapterhouse is delighted to be performing open-air theatre in such a historic and atmospheric site as Castle Hill. With the idyllic settings and captivating performances, Chapterhouse promises to present the most enjoyable evening of theatre under the stars.

Arrive early with friends and family to picnic in the splendid surroundings and enjoy an evening of Shakespeare under the stars.

A Quote from Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s Producer, Richard Main,Producer ”The last ten years seem to have vanished in a haze of rehearsals and wonderful people and venues.  I still feel as though we are on the cusp of a new company and that sense of newness comes from the regenerative spirit of all the new actors, the new and exciting scripts, the beautiful venues and of course the audiences who support us from year to year. I have so many memories of incredible times and experiences, of gardens and plays, of picnics and summer days and of verse and song and smiling faces. We are a privileged few who get to perform in such magnificent surroundings under the stars. There is absolutely nothing to compare with it as we see the changing season in the sounds of the countryside or the times of the sunset, making each night a first night until the last.

This year more than any other we have the best of shows, the loveliest of casts and the most incredible of itineraries for our performances, so please do join us on our journey as Chapterhouse presents its 10th year of magical theatre, theatre under the stars.”
