Lighting Up Dungannon with the Spirit of Christmas

It’s getting close to one of the biggest nights of the year for Dungannon town centre – the Christmas light switch on at Market Square.  This year the fun starts on Friday 27th November from 3:30pm with the main activity kicking off from 6pm at Market Square and more activity running right through until Sunday 29th November.

Lots of great entertainment is guaranteed and will include A Hannah Montana Tribute Band, local school choirs, with compere Liam Mckenna from Six fame hosting the evening.  Plus Christmas story time and art classes (in the library and booking essential) and the fantastic Christmas craft and food fair at the Linen Green, which will run throughout the weekend.

The Rotary Club is providing a magical Santa’s Grotto at Market Square and encourages everyone to participate in both the grotto and the tree.  Santa’s Grotto and present is £3 including a photograph is £5. The Rotary Club of Dungannon has chosen the Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice as their Charity along with other local charities.

“SLEEP EAT PARTY"

Tinderbox Theatre Company presents “SLEEP EAT PARTY” at the Craic Theatre Coalisland on Friday 20th of November at 8pm. A brand new show based on interviews with young men and women across Northern Ireland and scripted by multi award winning writer Damian Gorman.

Over the last six months dozens of young men have talked to Tinderbox’s Outreach team about how they live in 2009. By turns funny, moving and disturbing, their stories featured scrapes with the law, escaping the past, battling addiction, and the unexpected joy of fatherhood.
SLEEP EAT PARTY has been created from their words and experiences and includes characters based directly on interview material.

You might be the future, but you don’t have to be it right now…
