Learn2tyrone activity holidays offer groups of between 10-15 people, (in some cases bigger groups can be accommodated) a range of activities over a week-end, mid-week or weeklong stay with a selection of hotel, self catering or luxury country house accommodation. Our activities are all within a short distance of each other and the suggested accommodations are of the highest quality, with good vehicular access from main routes. All main tourist routes are close by many of the North’s fi nest tourist attractions. Activity providers included in the Learn tyrone programme are listed below.

Learn 2 Fly Fish at

Dungannon Park Lake Fishery is owned and managed by Dungannon & south Tyrone Borough Council and is Tyrone’s Premier Troutmaster Water. It is a 13 acre stream fed lake retained by an impressive 18th century dam. The lake is open all year round stocked weekly with rainbow trout and provides challenging boat, bank and stand angling.
In 2008, Dungannon Park Lake Fishery will be offering a wide range of affordable learn to fly fish opportunities. These include a series of organised courses in fly fishing and fly tying. Specially tailored one-to-one, group and family tuition sessions given by an in-house instructor plus a weeklong summer angling school for juniors aged between 11-18 years. This will be followed by weekly junior angling sessions throughout July and August. All angling equipment is supplied.

Our onsite facilities include, a “wheelie boat” designed to cater for wheelchair and disabled anglers, easy car parking, an anglers lodge and surfaced paths that surround the water. We also provide a caravan and camping facility, tennis courts, children’s play park and a barbeque area as well as several miles of woodland walks.
Rates: Learn 2 fly fish sessions, tailored to suit your needs only £10.00. Group & family rates will vary. All equipment supplied.

Dermot Cavanagh is the artist and broadcaster behind the hugely successful BBC TV series ‘Awash With Colour’ and the award winning Learn-To- Paint website ‘Awash On The Web’. During 74 half hour TV programmes Dermot taught a host of national and international celebrities to paint the Irish Landscape. His two, three and four-day painting courses offer expert tuition for small groups with accommodation if required. All painting materials, lunch and light refreshment is also provided. ‘Cook with Norah’ |

Norah Brown MBE (awarded for her contribution to Food and Tourism) is one of Tyrone’s bestloved characters. A warm and friendly lady, she has welcomed the locals of Northern Ireland and visitors from further afi eld into her home and kitchen for a number of years, teaching them the finer points and forgotten arts of Irish cuisine. Using an extensive range of local ingredients, Norah will advise you on the best way to stock your store cupboard. Then she will guide you step-by-step as she prepares her tasty recipes - all written down conveniently for you in your personalised folder. At the end of the morning or evening session, you will enjoy a lovely meal, with a glass of wine or local apple juice, from the dishes you have watched being prepared earlier!
